Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a goodwill message to mark the end of Ramadan, the governor prayed that the celebration would usher in joy, peace, and harmony among Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

Fubara, speaking on behalf of the government and people of Rivers State, wished Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Fitr and urged citizens to strengthen the bonds of unity and mutual respect across faiths.

He called on Nigerians to continue embracing diversity while promoting tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that shared values such as compassion, forgiveness, and unity should guide daily interactions.

The governor noted that Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, is a period devoted to fasting, prayers, and acts of charity by Muslim faithful.

He encouraged residents to sustain the virtues of love and selflessness cultivated during the fasting period.

The Federal Government had earlier declared March 19 and 20, 2026, as public holidays to enable Muslims celebrate the festival.

The statement was signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Onwuka Nzeshi.
