A former President of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will participate fully in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists on Thursday, Saraki said Nigerians who experienced the party’s performance while it was in power would ensure its continued relevance and presence on the ballot.
He stressed the importance of unity within the party, noting that stakeholders across different factions have agreed on the need to prioritise the PDP’s ability to field candidates in the next general elections.
According to him, all internal disagreements must be resolved to prevent any obstacles that could hinder the party’s participation.
Saraki added that party leaders—including Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory—are aligned on the goal of strengthening the party ahead of 2027.
He emphasised that establishing a functional National Working Committee remains critical to achieving this objective, noting that the party has made progress in overcoming internal challenges and is focused on moving forward.
