President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to remain united and resilient in the face of economic and security challenges as Christians across the country mark Easter.

In his 2026 Easter message released on Friday by the State House, the President described the season as a symbol of sacrifice, hope, and victory over adversity, encouraging citizens to reflect these values in national life.

He noted that the celebration commemorates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, underscoring the message of redemption and renewal.

Addressing security concerns, Tinubu acknowledged ongoing challenges but assured that his administration is intensifying efforts to combat terrorism and banditry through improved funding and international collaboration.

“Challenges to our security have remained. However, we are making resources available and building partnerships to deal decisive blows to agents of terror,” he said.

The President referenced his recent visit to Jos, where he sympathised with victims of violence, expressing confidence in the progress reported by security agencies and ongoing foreign support.

On the economy, Tinubu reiterated that current reforms, though demanding, are designed to deliver long-term growth and shared prosperity, adding that emerging indicators point to gradual improvement.

He called on Nigerians to support government initiatives, remain law-abiding, and prioritise peace, noting that sustainable development cannot occur in an atmosphere of fear and instability.

As the country prepares for another electoral cycle, the President emphasised the need for responsible political engagement, urging political actors to adhere strictly to the provisions of the Electoral Act.

He reaffirmed his commitment to governance and maintaining public trust, expressing optimism about the nation’s future.

“A new dawn is on the horizon,” he said, while wishing Nigerians a peaceful and fulfilling Easter celebration.
