A fresh legal twist has emerged in the political crisis rocking Rivers State, as a former federal lawmaker, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, has filed a suit at the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, seeking judicial intervention over the controversial appointment of a Sole Administrator for Rivers State by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In Suit No. FHC/PH/CS/50/2025, filed before Honourable Justice Adamu Turaki Mohammed on April 9, 2025, Dagogo listed as defendants: the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senate President, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.), who was appointed as the Sole Administrator for Rivers State.

The court granted an order for substituted service of the Originating Summons and all accompanying processes through DHL to the last known addresses of the defendants, citing difficulty in effecting personal service.
