The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the dates for the presentation of Certificates of Return to newly elected members of the National and State Assemblies, in line with provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

According to a statement signed by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, the event for National Assembly members will hold at the INEC National Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.

Certificates of Return will be presented to Senators-elect for Anambra South and Edo Central Senatorial Districts, as well as members-elect of the House of Representatives for Ovie North East and Ovie South West Federal Constituency (Edo State), Babura/Garki Federal Constituency (Jigawa State), Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency (Kaduna State), Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency (Ogun State), and Ibadan North Federal Constituency (Oyo State).

For the State Houses of Assembly, the Certificates of Return will be presented by Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in the respective states on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

The constituencies include: Ganye (Adamawa State), Onitsha North I (Anambra State), Basawa and Zaria/Kewaye (Kaduna State), Bagwai/Shanono and Ghari/Tsanyawa (Kano State), Okura (Kogi State), Munya (Niger State), and Karim Lamido I (Taraba State).
