The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has repatriated 51 more foreign nationals convicted of cyber-terrorism and internet fraud.
According to a statement, the latest batch includes 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian, bringing the total number of convicted foreign nationals deported to 102 since the exercise began on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The convicts were among 192 foreign nationals arrested during a sting operation in Lagos, following actionable intelligence on the activities of one of the largest foreign-led cybercrime syndicates operating in Nigeria.
The EFCC noted that the ongoing deportation exercise is part of its renewed efforts to dismantle transnational cybercrime networks and restore Nigeria’s digital security space.
Further deportations are expected in the coming days.
