The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a gospel musician in connection with the death of four individuals found inside a music studio in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred at a studio located within the HFP Shopping Complex along the Abraham Adesanya axis of Ajah.

Three of the victims were said to be members of the musician’s band, while the fourth was a blogger hired to promote a planned three-day birthday musical concert scheduled to take place at the studio.

The deceased were identified as Mathew Ogundele, Itunu Ogundele, Joseph Sanya and Mathew Awosanya.

Police sources disclosed that the four persons spent the night at the studio but were discovered dead the following morning.

According to reports, the incident was brought to the attention of the police by the husband of the studio owner, who stated that food had been bought for the victims on the night before their deaths.

Another source at the Ajah Police Division, who requested anonymity, revealed that the studio door was found locked from the inside when concerned individuals arrived the next morning.

“The door had to be forced open, and the four persons were found lying motionless inside the studio,” the source said.

The victims were immediately taken to the Mainland General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed them dead. Their remains were thereafter deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

Detectives were deployed to the scene to carry out preliminary investigations, including documentation and photographic evidence.

Confirming the development, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the case was initially reported at the Ajah Police Division before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

She disclosed that one suspect, identified as the organiser of the event, is currently in police custody, adding that investigations are ongoing pending the outcome of the autopsy report.
