AEDC explained that the outage resulted from a “loss of supply from the national grid,” affecting all its franchise areas. The company assured customers that it was working with relevant stakeholders to restore power once the grid is stabilised.

Similarly, PHED informed its customers across Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states that the outage was due to a complete loss of supply from transmission stations. The company appealed for patience, stressing that efforts were ongoing to restore supply as quickly as possible.
